In the final quarter of 2020, the carpooling and ridesharing sector on the iOS platform in the UK saw varied performances among the top apps. Here's a breakdown of the key metrics, courtesy of Sensor Tower's comprehensive data.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a slight fluctuation in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 30K downloads and dipping to around 24K by the end of December. Weekly active users (WAU) peaked in early December at over 750K but saw a decline towards the end of the month, stabilizing at around 540K.

Bolt: Request a Ride's download numbers showed a more pronounced decrease from nearly 20K at the beginning of the quarter to just under 10K by the end. The app's WAU remained relatively stable, hovering around the 125K mark, with a slight dip to 117K as the quarter closed.

For Ola Cabs, the download trend was on a downward trajectory from about 10K in late September to 5.6K in late December. The app's WAU saw an initial drop but then rose to a high of approximately 145K before ending the quarter with a slight decrease.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver downloads varied across the quarter, with a peak of around 7.6K in early November and ending with about 6.5K in late December. The WAU for the driver-focused app showed an increase through mid-November to over 95K users but then experienced a decline, finishing the year at around 80K.

Lastly, Kapten saw its downloads start at approximately 2.3K and drop significantly by mid-December. The app's WAU saw a steady decline throughout the quarter, starting at around 11K and falling to just over 7K by the year's end.
